Den Vital

I came to calisthenics from parkour and a few YouTube videos I could not stop rewatching. A year later a group of us founded Barliner Workout. Since then I have watched this sport change people’s lives — mine first.

How it started

2012
Parkour got me moving. Then I found Hannibal For King’s videos and wanted to do every one of those exercises myself.
Workshop
After a calisthenics workshop, the people who had been there found each other in a Facebook group and kept training together on their own.
Chapter
At first we trained as a city chapter of a team that ran workshops across Germany. Soon we were writing our own plans.
8 Sep 2013
Barliner Workout was born. In a brainstorm in our group chat someone wrote “Barliner Workout” — and that was it.
Today
A community where people train in their own neighbourhood, on the bars around the corner, and support each other.

How I coach

Build the body that can hold the skill.

Tendons and joints adapt slower than muscles, so we earn every skill step by step — and keep it for years.

What I’m proud of

The lives that changed. People who came for a pull-up and found a community, a routine, a new way to see what their body can do.

And Berlin: helping calisthenics grow here into what it is now — a sport you can do right outside your door, together.

Train with me

Classes mainly in English — German and Russian when someone needs it.
